The potential for open-ended exploration, combat, and terror in the engine of a complex and sophisticated soldier sim were clear. Sure, it’s a slightly broken alpha version of an unfinished mod of a game notorious for its wonkiness, but the challenge of it had already enthralled me. Or at least that what I insisted to myself. My second attempt to stay alive in this brutal, zombie-infested version of Arma 2 was going to be a little slower. That’s where all the survivors start out, with a Makarov pistol, some cans of food, a shot of morphine, and few other supplies. "On my first go, I bled to death in the dark, alone on a forest trail. If you die, you respawn as if it was the first time you logged in, so every choice you make is important. I've never played ARMA 2 I know that some view it at an over-the-top military sim with awful voice acting.īut this mod looks interesting: basically a persistent-server based world (24hr day/night cycle) where the humans you meet (other players logged into the server) are just as dangerous as the zombies, especially since it seems many players turn to banditry just to keep their supplies topped off.

absolutely amazing, that's for sure.I found out about this alpha mod while reading RPS. Any suggestions? I'm aware that Arma 3 doesn't have true 3D support since the engine isn't designed to even output 3D, so Arma 3 isn't my chief concern, but having Elite: Dangerous-style headtracking in Mechwarrior Online sounds. Both games offer native head-tracking support via TrackIR or Freetrack, so it would be more ideal to track the head movement independent of the aim, especially in games such as these where you're frequently in vehicles. Other games that suffer similar problems are Arma 3 and Mechwarrior Online. Has anyone got the Enhanced Camera mod for Skyrim working with true headtracking, or does head movement still move your aim as well?

Does anyone have any experience with this, and is there a guide to getting it working? I'm at work right now and can't play with it, but I'd like to know where to start. I've also heard that you can use Freetrack to track the DK2's movements and disable VorpX's built in headtracking and just use it for the 3d hooking.

The only issue I have is head-tracking! For some reason VorpX insists on converting head movement into mouse movement, which makes it fine for games that don't natively support head tracking like Skyrim, but I'm told that with the Enhanced Camera mod, you can have true head movement independent of your aim (as this feels the most natural to me). I recently bought VorpX, and I'm super impressed by its ease of use and reliability thus far it seems to hook into my desired games pretty easily in the few tests I've done, and I've heard from others that the other games I'm interested in will work fine as well.
